During this tour you will repeat the routes of caravans used in the past and see the cities which had huge importance and were the main part of bygone trade way. Travelling to Uzbekistan is like viewing the diamond – the edges of which you can enjoy endlessly. Uzbekistan is like a fine art – pictures of mountain scenery, deserts, lakes, rivers and oases are superseding one another – you have to see it.

It is like a literature, old book of history and you have to read it. It is like an aura of the past and warmth of hospitality and you have to feel it. Uzbekistan is the land of a great commander Tamerlane (Amir Temur), a brilliant astronomer and a ruler Mirzo Ulugbek, a scientist and a doctor whose name is known worldwide Ibn Sino (Avicenna), a historian and a geographer Abu-Raykhon Beruniy, a mathematician and a founder of algebra Al-Khorazmiy. Uzbekistan is a home and shelter for genius poets, Sufi, skillful masters and craftsmen.

Itinerary

Day1Arrival Tashkent

Arrival Tashkent by day-time flight. Meet and transfer to the hotel and pre-arranged check-in. Time for rest after the flight. After some rest start city tour, the Amir Timur Statue, Memorial to the World War II Victims, Monument of Courage, State Museum of Applied Arts, Alisher Navoi Theater Square Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2Tashkent – Urgench – Khiva

Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Tashkent Domestic Airport. Morning flight to Urgench (according to the schedule). On arrival, meeting at the airport and drive to Khiva (30 km).

Excursion along the historical Complex Ichan-Kala (XII-XIX cc.) that is included into the UNESCO World Heritage List: Citadel Kunya-Ark (XVI-XVI cc.), Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasah, Kazi Kalon Madrasah, Muhammad Rakhimkhan II Madrasah, Ismail Khodja Mausoleum, Sayid Allauddin Mausoleum, Kalta Minor Tower, Tash-Khovli Palace (XIX c.), Palvan Darvaza (Warriors Gate), Djuma Mosque (X c.), Allakulikhan Madrasah, Ota Darvaza (Father Gate), Kutlug Murad Inaq Madrasah.

Transfer to the hotel, check-in and overnight.

Day 3Khiva – Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel In old days, route from Khiva to Bukhara lasted more than a month.

Today it takes 6-7 hours by vehicle, through mysterious red desert “Kyzyl-Kum”, the territory of “Khorezm”, which was called in the past as a “State of Thousand and Hundred Cities”. Meanwhile, you are invited to view the exotic landscapes of desert with roaming camels, nomadic yurts and Amudarya (Oxus) River.

Arrival Bukhara and transfer to the hotel. Check-in and overnight.

Day 4Bukhara City

Breakfast at the hotel Holy Bukhara, homeland of Ibn Sino (Avicenna), loved city of all saints and worldwide known philosopher – cheery Khodja Nasriddin, lively, noisy and luxurious capital of Emirs, rich man of all nationals and patrons.

Full day city tour in Bukhara: visit to Citadel Ark (IV c.) – city in a city, Bolo-Khauz Mosque (beginning of XX c.), Ismael Samani Mausoleum (the tomb of representatives of Samanids’ dynasty at the end of IX –beginning of X cc.), Poyi Kalon Ensemble (Pedestal of the Great) – religious heart of sacred Bukhara that consists of Minaret Kalon (XII c.), Kalyan Mosque (XII c.) and Miri Arab Madrasah (XVI c.), Ulugbek Madrasah (1417), Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah, Magoki-Attori Mosque (XII-XVI cc.), Kosh-Madrasah Ensemble that consists of Madari-Abdullakhan Madrasah, Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble (XIV-XVII cc.), Nodir Divanbeghi Madrasah, (Abdullakhan’s mother) and Abdullakhan Madrasah.

Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 5Bukhara City

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive out of the city to visit Bakhauddin Naqshbandiy Memorial Complex (XVI-XIX cc.).

Further drive to Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa Complex (XIX c.) – summer residence of the last Emir of Bukhara. Arrival back to the city and excursion over trade domes named Coumpol Bazaar (XVI c.) – trading points where tourists can enjoy real Uzbek bargaining process and make shopping. It consists of Toki Saraffon (the Dome of Money changers), Toki-Telpak Furushon (the Dome of Cap makers), Toki Zargaron (the Dome of jewelers) and Tim Abdullakhan (the Center of silk).

Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 6Bukhara – Shakhrisabz – Samarkand

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Samarkand via Shakhrisabs (290 km).

On arrival, excursion along the city: Amir Timur’s Ak-Saray Palace (White palace, 1380-1404), which is substantially destroyed, but it’s restoring intensively. Mausoleum Dorus-Saodat («Power Place», XIV c.) — crypt of Jahangir and Omar (Timur’s sons); Ensemble Dorus-Tilovat («A blue mosque», XIV c.) — the mausoleum of spiritual instructor Timur Shamsiddin Kulol, graceful Gumbazi-Seyidon Mausoleum (XVI c.), Kok-Gumbaz Mosque (1435), and Khazrat-Imam Mosque (XIV c.).

Continue drive to Samarkand (160 km).

Transfer to the hotel, check-in and overnight.

Day 7Samarkand City

Breakfast at the hotel.

Full day city tour in Samarkand: visit to the famous Registan Square that consists of Madrasah Ulugbek (XV c.), Madrasah Sher-Dor (XVII c.), Madrasah Tillya-Kori (XVII c.); Guri Emir Mausoleum -Tamerlane’sTomb (XIV-XV cc.), Ulugbek Observatory (XV c.), Afrosiab Museum, Architectural Complex Shakh-i-Zinda (XI-XV cc.), Bibi Khanum Mosque (XIV-XV). Further visit to eastern Siyob Bazaar for dried fruits, sweets and souvenirs.

Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 8Samarkand – Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning drive to Tashkent by coach (350 km). On arrival, transfer to the hoteland pre-arranged check-in (standard check-in time: after 2 PM). Optional: In the evening you are invited to enjoy Opera or Ballet performance at Alisher Navoi Theater (as per availability).

Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 9Tashkent – Ferghana

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Fergana through mountain ass.

On arrival Kokand (240 km), city tour: visit to Khudoyarkhan Palace and Museum, Djami Mosque, Norbutabi Madrasah, Modarikhan Mausoleum. Further drive to Rishtan (45 km) and visit to Ceramic Studio of famous craftsman. Continue drive to Fergana (55 km).

On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check-in.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10Ferghana – Margilan – Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning excursion in Fergana by visiting Uzbekistan State Museum. Further drive to Margilan (20 km).

On arrival, visit to “Yodgorlik” Silk Factory. Here you may see the process of silk production that is being kept from ancient times. Afternoon drive to Tashkent through mountain pass (360 km). On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check-in.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11Tashkent City

Breakfast at the hotel.

City tour along the old part of Tashkent: visit to Khazrati Imam Complex consisting of Barak Khan Madrasah (XVI c.), Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum (XV c.), Muyi-Mubarak Mosque – storehouse of the well-known Koran of Khalif Osman and gold hair of Prophet Muhammad; Djuma Mosque of Khodja Akhrar Vali, Kukeldash Madrasah (XVI c.).

Free time for purchases in CHORSU bazaar and souvenir shops.

Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 12Tashkent City last day

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tashkent International Airport.

Registration and flight to the next destination as per the schedule.
